New Orleans: A Labor of Love is a state-of-the-art social networking community and public awareness campaign committed to organizing and recruiting volunteers and materials for the Gulf Coast, with special emphasis placed on rebuilding New Orleans.

In October 2009, our www.nolaboroflove.com site relaunched as www.nolaboroflove.org - a user-supported site where members connect with volunteer assignments, travel tips and resources. Our site also serves as a Think Tank and an Idea Lab to create cost-effective solutions for Gulf Coast relief issues.

We are dedicated to educating and engaging a thriving community of Katrina, Rita, and Gustav survivors; volunteers; policy makers; community organizers; and green builders to reconstruct the Gulf Coast.

It’s been over  four years since Katrina hit and by most estimates it will take another eight to ten years to fully restore New Orleans and surrounding areas. We are committed to fostering synergy around Gulf Coast recovery for the duration.

We will never give up.
